Congratulations to all our athletes on a job well done this weekend at both Provincial Championships & CUSSL’s. Head Coach Paisley McNair and her team of coaches are moved by the commitment and dedication shown by Anna & Michaela this weekend at Provincial Championships.
Early on Saturday morn
ing during the 16-18 figures portion of the event Michaela received a penalty on her first figure giving her an unfortunate mark of 0. Though it was a shock to everyone and an unclear distinction in the rule books coach Valarie Hould-Marchand rallied the duet partners and they were both able to successfully dominate the remainder of their figures and complete the morning portion of events. Though these unfortunate results pitted them in last place going into the routine portion of the competition they came back with vengeance in the afternoon.
Cheered on by their moms, teammates Jenna and Emma and coaches Laura and Paisley the duet swam brilliantly. They powered through their routine and showed adversity and strength to come back and place 5th in routine score.
Job well done ladies a true showcase of strength and perseverance!
A big THANKS to all our athletes who participated in the CUSSL’s this weekend! The morning started off the 16 team showcasing their routine (short their two teammates Anna & Michaela) to kick off the CUSSL championships. It was followed up shortly after in the duet category with stellar performances from Jacqueline & Alexandra to their Americano duet and Jenna & Emma with their Dark Knight duet.
Our two AWD athletes Erin and Melanie had crowd roaring performances in the solo category. A job well done specifically to Erin O’Neil who finished her routine performance with a rounding applause from the crowd even when her music cut off in the middle of her swim.
The afternoon rounded off with swims from our 11 team and 14 team who both had excellent performances of their routines. Everyone is back in the pool hard at work this week again in preparation for Divisional’s over March break for our national swimmers and Regional’s April 8-10th for our provincial swimmers.
Congratulations ag
ain to all that participated!
